I take a person-centered approach to therapy, which means I believe that YOU are the expert on you.
You are not someone who needs to be fixed, but rather someone who deserves to be understood. My role as your therapist is to create a space to share your story - a space where all emotions can be felt and all thoughts can be voiced. Therapy is an investment that you make in yourself. Turning inward is an act of strength. Yes, this journey will be painful, you will grieve at times, but you will also laugh and find parts of yourself that are full of resilience and worth treasuring.
I will work with you to help you respond versus react, identify stuck points, explore behavioral patterns that no longer serve you, and develop tools to manage the inevitable struggles of life. My ultimate goal is for you to leave therapy with a renewed sense of self – to work WITH your emotions, identify and advocate for your needs, and ultimately develop healthier ways of moving through the world. Self-exploration is the path to self-discovery and these can be powerful tools to reduce suffering and promote healing.
